TRIP OVERVIEW

Kathmandu Valley-Chisapani-Nagarkot trek is a very popular trekking route for a memorable hike around the outskirts of the Kathmandu valley. During the trek, trekkers will be rewarded with picteresue vistas of the beautiful countryside nestled below silver peaks that dominate the skyline. On the first day, we will go for sigihtseeing of the beautiful Kathmandu valley and visit different World Heritage Sites such as Pashupati Nath, Swayambhu Nath, and beautiful palaces and courtyards from medieval periods in Unesco listed squares and courts.

We will drive from the capital to Sundarijal which will take an hour approximately. Our trek begins from here, from where we will follor the trail to Chisapani. We will trek through Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife reserve. The stunning view of the massive Sundarijal waterfall will keep us refreshed throughout the four and half hours long trek. We will come across the beautiful Tamang settlement of Mulkharka where we can see the unique lifestyle of country people in the remote region just few hours away from the biggest cinty in the country. We will descend down the beautiful ridge through rhododendron and oak forests to reach the beautiful settlement of Chisapani.

The next day we will begin our trek from Chauki Bhanjhyang to reach Nagarkot (2,175m) which takes around 6 hours to complete. We will continue through a beautiful trial to reach the beautiful Newar settlement of Nagarkot, which is one of the most visited destinations in the country. The skyline in Nagarkot is dominated by beautiful and awe-inspiring mountains. We can see Dhaulagiri in the west to the majestic Everest in the east. We can also view the equally alluring north-central mountains such as Langtang Lirung and ta massive Ganesh Massif.

The sunsets and sunrises from Nagarkot are equally mesmerizing popular. Every morning and evening tourists gather atop the hill station to watch the sun rays hit on the silver peaks transforming them into blazing orange color. We will trek back to Kathmandu Valley through Changu Narayan. In Changu Narayan, we will visit the ancient Changu Narayan temple. The temple is an epitome of the beautiful Newari architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also thought to be the oldest temple in the valley affectionately known as “city of temples”.

The trek is of moderate difficulty and anyone in good fitness conditions can complete. It is suitable for family holidays as the no. of days taken to complete the trek is very short and even children can easily complete the trek. The trekkers will be able to witness and explore the local traditions and rich culture of the predominant inhabitants of the region, the Newars and the Tamangs which have had very little impact modernization.
