TRIP OVERVIEW

The foothills of the beautiful Annapurna massif in West is one of the most often visited regions in Nepal. lying on the north-western side of the Himalayan country, the region is characterized by contrasts as the driest, wettest, and the windiest places of the country fall in the region. The region was a restricted area until 1977 and the area falls under Annapurna Conservation Area, thus the region is still in its remote wild form unaffected by the modernity of life.

The Royal Trek is one of the most famous trekking routes in the region and whole country as along the trail we can have a majestic view of the western mountains while exploring the culture and lifestyle of the predominant inhabitants of the region, the Gurungs. The trek is named the Royal Trek because in 1980 AD England’s crown prince Charles had trekked through this route with an entourage of 80 people. The trek is one of the shortest yet most gratifying trekking routes in the region as it is less crowded than other trails in the region.

The trek begins from the beautiful city of Pokhara and ends in the tranquil and pristine Begnas Lake. Due to moderate difficulty and altitude, the trek is suitable for people of all age group. Since it only takes around 4 days to complete this trek it is most suited for holidays with friends and families for a break from the hustle of city life. The trek offers a splendid view of the Machhapuchhre Mountain, also known as the Fishtail Mountain, the Annapurna Massif, The Dhaulagiri range and Lamjung Himal. We will trek through the lush green hills and can also witness some of the exotic species of floras and faunas like Kaliz, leopard and musk deer among others. In addition to that, we will see countless eagles and vultures soaring near to the mountains.

The trek belongs from the ridge of Kalikasthan which is 30 minutes long drive from Pokhara. Another highlight of the trek is the viewers will be able to observe and experiences the lifestyle and culture of the native Gurung people, who are well-known around the world for their courage and are known as Gurkhas. The lovely wood and mud houses, wooden porches, the elaborate festivals and traditions will deliver a rare glimpse of the remote Himalayan people to the trekkers.

The introductory and short Annapurna Roy trek is appropriate for family holidays and is even suitable for young children. The 5 days trek can be tailored as per the requirements of clients and can be protracted into other deeds like rafting in Seti river, jungle safari in Chitwan and so on.

The trip starts and ends from Pokhara, the lake city which is a famous tourist destination in itself. We will spend two nights in Pokhara and can visit beautiful lakes of Phewa , Rupa and Begnas and indulge in the memorable adventures like paragliding, zip flying,  and canoeing. The trek can be undertaken year-round.
